About Scots Roots Research.

Scots Roots Research is a small company based on the outskirts of Edinburgh in West Lothian. Our aim is to provide an ancestry search service for people with Scots ancestry.

Family history research is carried out for us by Alex MacMillan, who has been researching Scottish family history for the last 16 years. He has traced his MacMillan ancestors back to around 1690.

Alex lives in West Lothian and has easy access to all of the records available in Edinburgh.
